Create a Facebook Page for your business
ZippityOne publishes to Facebook through a Page — the public home Facebook gives businesses, separate from anyone's personal profile. Creating one is free and takes about ten minutes.
What you'll need
- A personal Facebook profile — every Page is created and managed from one; there's no business-only login
- Your business name and a category that describes what you do
- Optional but worth having ready: a short bio, contact info, hours, and a profile photo
Step by step
- 1
Log into Facebook and open Pages
Sign in with your personal profile at facebook.com, then click “Pages” in the menu on the left. Don't worry — the Page you're about to create lives separately from your personal profile.
- 2
Start a new Page
Click “Create Page”, select “Public Page”, click “Next”, then click “Get Started”.
- 3
Name your Page and pick a category
Add your Page name — normally just your business name — and a category that describes what you do. Add an optional bio, then click “Create Page”. The Page now exists; the remaining steps flesh it out.
- 4
Add your business information
Add contact info, location and hours, and click “Next”. Then add profile and cover photos, adjust the action button if you like, and click “Next” again. Customers judge a bare Page quickly — the photo and hours are worth the two minutes.
- 5
Work through the final prompts
Facebook offers to connect WhatsApp (click “Skip” if that's not you), invite your friends to follow the Page, and set notification preferences. Choose what suits you and click “Done”. Full official instructions are in Facebook's help article, Create a Facebook Page.
- 6
Optional: share access with people you trust
You don't have to run the Page alone. Facebook has two main access levels: Facebook access (with full or partial control — the person can switch into the Page and manage it on Facebook) and task access (they can work on the Page only through tools like Meta Business Suite).
To grant access, switch into your Page and manage Page access from its settings — see Facebook's article Give, edit or remove Facebook Page access.
Common snags
A Page is not “pro mode” and not a Group
Facebook offers three business-adjacent things and the names blur together. A Page is a separate public presence for your business — that's what ZippityOne publishes to. Pro mode is a setting that upgrades your personal profile, and Groups are for communities around a shared interest. If a setup screen is talking about turning on professional mode for your profile, you're in the wrong flow — back out and create a Page.
Be careful who gets full control
Facebook's warning is blunt: giving someone Facebook access with full control gives them the same access as you — including removing you or deleting the Page. Give partial control or task access unless the person genuinely needs everything. And note the flip side: a Page must always have at least one person with full control, or Facebook automatically deactivates it and schedules it for deletion.
Connecting to ZippityOne? You'll pick a Page, not a profile
When you connect Facebook to ZippityOne, Facebook shows which Pages you manage and you choose one — posts are published as the Page, never as you. If the connect screen says no Pages were found, finish creating your Page first, then try again.
